Code of Conduct
International Fencing Camp (“Camp”) and all its staff members are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all campers and guests. To promote safety and comfort for all, all individuals are asked to act appropriately at all times when in our facility or participating in our programs.
We expect persons using Camp facilities and representing their clubs to act maturely, to behave responsibly, and to respect the rights and dignity of others. The actions listed below are specifically prohibited, as are any actions that:
- Endanger the safety or dignity of campers and guests at Camp and the Hoosac School (“School”),
- Damage or disrespect the property of the Hoosac School
- reflect poorly on the reputation of Camp in the community or at competitions.
Following actions/behaviors are specifically forbidden:
- Using or possessing illegal chemicals or elicit drugs on Camp property
- Using or possessing marijuana on Camp property
- Smoking or consuming alcohol on Camp property
- Harassment or intimidation by words, gestures, body language, or any type of menacing behavior
- Physical contact with another person in an angry, aggressive, or threatening way
- Verbally abusive behavior, including angry or vulgar language, swearing, name-calling, or shouting
- Sexually explicit conversation or behavior; any sexual contact with another person
- The use of words or behavior that creates an unwelcoming environment to any person on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, ability to speak English, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity
- Theft of personal property of other campers or any property belonging to the camp
- Any behavior that results in the defacement, destruction or loss of property
- Use of camera cell phones on the Camp grounds to record or photograph anyone in a state of undress
- Taking pictures/videos of another person without their permission and knowledge
Members and guests should not hesitate to notify a staff member if they observe
any of the above behavior.
International Fencing Camp takes Code of Conduct very seriously.
Suspension from Camp may result from violating the Code Conduct.
